About Us

Overview Cub Scout Pack 207 is chartered by St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Parish in Ross Township, in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh. It has been a part of St. Sebastian's parish family since 1964. We offer activities for boys in K through 5th Grade.

How Does It Work?Cub Scouting is a program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) that lasts up to 5 years, though a boy may join as a new scout in any given year. The program is divided into three year-long levels, and one 18-month transitional level. Because our Pack is closely affiliated with St. Sebastian School, we use a boy's school grade to determine where he will be in the program:

  • Kindergarten - Lion Cub
  • First Grade - Tiger Cub
  • Second Grade - Wolf
  • Third Grade - Bear
  • Fourth Grade - Webelos I (first year)
  • Fifth Grade - Webelos II (second year, partial)

Each group is called a Den. Dens usually meet twice each month and work on age-specific program activities. Additionally, there are some activities for each Den that are designed to be worked on at home and discussed at the next Den or Pack meeting. All the Dens come together once each month for a Pack meeting, and sometimes for a "Go See It" activity (field trip). We also plan other optional activities open to all boys in the Pack each year, such as family weekend camp-outs, overnight programs at the Pittsburgh Zoo, Science Center, or Carnegie Natural History Museum. Family members are welcome at all regular Pack activities and encouraged to come and share in the fun!

Why Cub Scouts? The goal of Pack 207 is to provide a safe, fun, and educational program for young boys and their families. Character development is one of the primary goals of the Cub Scout program, and the program is designed to develop and enrich these Core Values:
